In the new 14-plus minute video for his single “.38” (from Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition) Young Jeezy busies himself with the sort of activities that you would expect from a “Trap Star.” The clip, rendered in black and white, finds the Atlanta rapper as the star of a narrative that includes plenty of violence and betrayal. Scenes jump from the studio, to the streets and into a drug den, and although the mini-movie is fictional, it’s also intended to be semi-autobiographical.
After a bumpy road marked by plenty of delays, Young Jeezy’s fourth solo album,Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition—also his first in three years—is finally scheduled for release on December 20. MTV News attended Jeezy’s listening party at New York City’s Quad Studios on December 3, where he previewed an album heavy on features and full of lessons that he’s picked up in the trap game.
